The Sea, The Sea

I think everyone loves the sea and I adore spending time by it. Recently I had a week in South Cornwall very near Porthcurno beach. I also explored Mousehole, Sennen and Lamorna, Cape Cornwall and St Just.

I hit Cornwall at a time of neap tides, it had been a rough windy week there before I arrived and the seas were still high and exhilaratingly wind-charged, great banks of water ferociously walloping into the cliffs. A couple of days on Sennen Beach were stunning, I had never seen seen such towering waves and on a bright, blustery, hot sunny day the colours were so vivid, running from aquamarine, turquoise, marine blue and green through to violets and purples where the storm torn seaweed was brought along with the currents.

The Lizard peninsula is another favourite part of Cornwall, less commercialised than the other parts. Kynance Cove, the lizard lighthouse area, Coverack, Mullion Cove, and Kennack Sands to mention a few.
